The Venom Movie is a Go!
Why on Earth Sony decided to squeeze Venom into Spider-Man 3, along with two other villains, is beyond me! Granted, the 'church scene' was exactly how I pictured it should go.
Well after years of feeling disappointed, Sony gave the fans what they want: Venom's own spin off movie! According to Latino Review - "Sony has officially confirmed a Spider-Man spin-off focusing on none other than Venom himself. Hired to helm the script is the writing team from Zombieland, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick."
With the success of The Dark Knight, a darker Marvel story might do well. With the constant struggle the host (Eddie Brock Sr.?) and the symbiote have, the movie could really focus on this aspect the entire time. Since this is not an official Spider-Man movie (and Spider-Man 4 is already in the works), they will have to introduce someone else to rival Venom.....my guess is Carnage. I'm already getting excited!!!
