FIRST IMPRESSION: CARNAGE
Carnage #1 came out today and while I don't normally do reviews on single comics, I thought I'd share my first impression of this series. The first thing that caught my attention was the art. I think symbiotes were created to be drawn digitally. The next thing that got me excited was an appearance by Venom! Although he only appears in a Maximum Carnage flashback, it was nice to reminisce.
Now I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't get into any specifics about the story; all I will say is, wow! The last two pages caught me completely off guard. I like the direction this series is going and it gives me hope that the Carnage character will not change dramatically.
The worst part about this comic is the page following the story: "Carnage will come out every two months, but you will wish it came out more often." Every other month! Seriously!? Thats 10 months between the first and last issue. Marvel better have a plan for why they are waiting so long to end this series. Maybe the symbiotes all come out of hiding next summer and team-up against this new Carnage (wishful thinking)!
