Peter Parker finds himself in extremely difficult circumstances (naturally) in the “Spider-Man” 100th anniversary issue, written by Sean Ryan with In-Hyuk Lee handling the art and cover. After trying and failing to destroy the Techno-Symbiote suit, Peter and the suit’s former owner, Eddie Brock, were kidnapped by the Kingpin, who then killed Eddie, leaving Peter to battle the villain and the technologically enhanced alien on his own. FIRST IMPRESSION: guardians of the galaxy 14

GOTG 14

I was excited when it was announced that Venom would be joining the Guardians of the Galaxy.  Being half alien, I thought it was a perfect fit and can't believe he was never sent to space before.  Since the trailer for the upcoming movie was released, I learned a little bit about the GOTG, but this was my first time reading the comic.  

I thought the pages with Venom were great!  We learn that Venom was sent to space by The Avengers to be part of The Guardians (a backstory that will be explained in full in the issue on Free Comic Book Day) and get a small glimpse into what other alien species think of the symbiote and Flash's reaction.  The questions this first issue Venom is in has me anxious to see how this series helps to develop the character even more!

bleedingcool believes carnage will be in the venom movie

Last week we got a tease from ASM's tumblr regarding Carnage.  Now after an interview, Brendon Connelly from BleedingCool believes that the upcoming Venom movie will star Carnage as the antagonist:

Having recently spoken to Amazing Spider-Man 2 producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach myself (and you’ll be able to read what they told me in the next day or so) then as I read this post at IGN, I could more or less hear their comments out loud. Asked if Carnage was likely to rock up in Alex Kurtzman’s Venom movie, Arad and Tolmach pretty much confirmed that this was the plan.

Arad said: What a great idea.

While Tolmach offered: Exactly. The idea of Venom and Carnage… taking it into consideration. Watch out for this Venom movie. We are crazy excited.

 Gives Venom something his own size and stickiness to pick on. Not a bad idea, really. Stay tuned to see what Arad and Tolmach had to tell me, coming… yeah, pretty soon.

KILLER KASADY CAUGHT

The greater New York tri-state area got a whole lot safer yesterday.  Captured late last night, Cletus Kasady, escaped serial killer and notorious redhead, was eerily calm and subdued when he eagerly surrendered to the FBI. The manhunt for the FBI’s Most Wanted felon ended innocuously in a small strip mall outside of New Rochelle, New York.

A barista at a local coffee shop recognized Kasady and eventually called the police.  The barista apologized to reporters later admitting she didn’t immediately alert authorities hoping Spider-Man would beat them to the scene.  “What can I say?  I am a HUGE fan.”

Kasady had been sentenced to twelve life sentences for the twelve murders he committed — but escaped while being transported between federal prisons. Sources say Kasady has been remanded to Ravencroft Institute for further interrogation until he is relocated to a maximum security federal prison. While the barista didn’t get her wish, we know Spider-Man thanks her… as we all do. For now it appears that Kasady won’t be causing any more carnage.

Would you like to see Carnage show up as part of the Sinister Six or have him face off against Venom in his first movie appearance?
